Mission Briefing
Thoroughbred
From our friends at Rustridge Winery comes their complex, balanced and delicious Rustridge 2010 Estate Zinfandel. Right out of the bottle, this marvelous Chiles Valle (in the Napa Valley AVA) Zin reveals a big, impressive character. It presents a heady blend of fruit and savory elements that are full & engaging on the nose and a true delight on the palate.
Winemaker Susan Meyer has crafted many a marvelous wine through the years we’ve been acquainted. In this Zinfandel she has simply surpassed herself.
On the nose, the wine is dense and richly layered, with aromas of plum, cassis, blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, dusty bramble, baker’s chocolate, spice box and cracked pepper.
On the palate, the wine is juicy and bright on entry, then darker flavors emerge, with earth and spice elements that give the wine great balance. Black cherry, blackberry, blueberry and black currant lead the way. These flavors are followed by cocoa dust, dusty earth, bramble bush, tobacco leaf and cracked pepper.
Very highly recommended and terrific with food, this is the sort of Zin that would be right at home on your holiday table.
