VinRoc & Roll
Today’s VinRoc Wine Caves 2011 Napa Valley RTW is made with the same incredible Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon that is found in the winery’s own $100 VinRoc Cabernet Sauvignon. Put this wine up against any $50 to $75 Napa Cab and we’re sure it would come out on top. This wine is… amazing.
We first featured VinRoc Wine Caves back in 2009. We later featured a single wine in 2010 and one in 2011. Why haven’t we seen them since? Their wines are very limited-production - and usually quite unavailable. Agent Red was persistent in trying to obtain another VinRock wine and he was finally successful.
Today’s RTW is a bargain at just $34.99.
Dense and bold and absolutely packed with opulent, heady aromas of blackberry jam, mocha, sweet spice, crème de cassis, blueberry compote, sweet tobacco, leather, dried meats, espresso bean and a hint of peppercorn.
On the palate, this wine wows with bold flavors of blackberry and blueberry compote, braised plum, tobacco leaf, leather, cigar box, dried fall leaves, bramble, and sweet spice with hints of subtle savory herb and cracked pepper.
Enjoy!
Tasting Profile
Look: | Darkest garnet with a forebodingly dark core. Tall, skinny tears move swiftly down the glass after giving the wine a good swirl. |

Finish: | Ultra long and packed with flavors that tail off very, very slowly, leaving behind an elegant crushed velvet dryness. |
Pairing: | This relatively affordable wine would be very much at home with the most elegant, fancy cuts of meat that you could possibly serve it with. We’ll enjoy our bottles with a perfectly grilled filet mignon. |
