Mission Codename Shrine of Friendship
Today’s delicious hand-crafted Pinot Noir hails from my friends at Rally Point Wines. Winemaker, Tim Burgess, has a passion for Burgundian varietals and this passion shines through with today’s delectable terroir driven marvel, the Rally Point 2013 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
On the nose, the wine shows off smoky dark cherry, Alpine strawberry, dried wild mushroom, cedar, subtle dried herbs, kola nut, and mild oak.
It is rich and full on the palate, with flavors of Black cherry, wild strawberry, cedar spice box, forest floor, wild mushroom, spice and subtle dried herbs.
The Rally Point winery is a collaboration between Tim and his wife Kate. Tim worked for [REDACTED] winery for the better part of a decade before he and Kate took the leap and launched their own wine label. Their wines launched to instant notoriety and praise. It is not uncommon for their wines to receive multiple medals and scores in the mid-90’s.
Today’s very highly recommended offering is a balanced Russian River gem that drinks like a great Russian River Pinot with a touch of French Burgundy. This gives the wine great fruit that is balanced against a subtle, nuanced earthiness.
We love this wine and know that you will, too!
