Mission Codename The King of Santa Cruz
Welcome to another Super Spy Sunday! Every Sunday we bring you an elite-level wine - at a fantastic price. Today, we are thrilled to bring you the Black Ridge Vineyards 2010 San Andreas Red. This 91 point (Wine Enthusiast Magazine) wine is, hands down, the best Santa Cruz Mountains wine we’ve ever featured - and the best our tasting panel has ever tasted.
Classic Cabernet-dominant aromas of blackberry, black currant, black cherry, tobacco, leather, spice, cigar box, toasty oak, vanilla, cocoa, blueberry compote and black pepper.
On the palate, it is bold and absolutely bursting with flavor. Blackberry reduction, black cherry, black currant, boysenberry, sweet toasty oak, cocoa dust, dried fall leaves, twigs, dusty earth, mixed brown spice and freshly cracked pepper.
Winemaker Bill Brosseau has earned over one hundred - 90 point ratings. Bill is winemaker for Black Ridge Estates, Testarossa Winery, Fleming Jenkins and his own Brosseau Wines. If you haven’t tried his wines, this is the one to enjoy.
Very highly recommended!

Here’s what the Wine Press has to say:
“Highly intriguing aromas of forest floor, damp pine trees and blackberry reduction sauce power the nose on this blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 6% Malbec. The flavors are quite broad and welcoming, with purple and blue fruits, but also herbs of oregano and thyme. It’s tasty but not showy, a wine that’s happy in its own skin.” - 91 points - Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast
