Mission Codename Elevated Expression
Stonestreet is back… with their newest release, the phenomenal Stonestreet Wines 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine has earned a bevy of awards, including a 94 point score from Robert Parker, a 93 point score from Wine Enthusiast, and 90 point scores from Antonio Galloni and Tasting Panel Magazine. This is all high and worthy praise to be sure!
This wine is deeply fragrant, with bold aromas of Blackberry preserve, blueberry, black cherry, plum, black licorice, fig, coffee, clove, black pepper and toasted oak.
Rich and full on the palate, with stewed black fruit of blackberry, plum and black cherry, followed by cigar box, molasses, tobacco, toast, mocha, black pepper and dark toasted oak.
We featured the 2011 vintage in October and, while that was a great wine from a difficult vintage, today’s 2012 is far superior. 2012 has shaped up to be the ‘it’ vintage and today’s wine really drives this point home. We hope that you are able to partake of this offer.
Please grab some while you still can. Quantity is limited.
–Accolades–
“As for Stonestreet’s red wines, these were by far the strongest efforts I have ever tasted from this estate. The five 2012 cuvées I tasted are all from amazing elevations. For example, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from vineyards between 500 and 2,400 foot elevations.
A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Malbec aged 17 months in 30% new French oak, it exhibits an inky/blue/purple color as well as a terrific nose of wet pebbles, blueberries, blackcurrants, lead pencil shavings and charcoal presented in a full-bodied, rich, concentrated style.” - 94 points - Robert Parker, 12/2014

“A lovely Cabernet, ripe and delicious, yet complex enough to hold your interest. It’s just beginning its journey in the bottle. Very dark in color, with hard tannins, it has an immense core of blackberries and cherries. Give it at least 6–8 years, but it could still be rocking in 2022.” - 93 points - Wine Enthusiast

“The 2012 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous entry-level offering from Stonestreet. Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, new leather and baking spices meld together in a soft, open-knit Cabernet Sauvignon to drink now and over the next decade or so.
Expressive floral and spiced notes develop in the glass, adding perfume and lift. Dollops of Merlot and Malbec round out the blend. “ - 90 points - Antonio Galloni, 1/2015

“Smooth and velvety with ripe plum, cassis and soft herbs; rich, lush and tangy with a long, balanced finish.” - 90 points - Tasting Panel
