Mission Codename Good onya!
Today’s wine is an absolute must-have that our own Agent Red went utterly crazy for, the stunning Rockburn Wines 2013 Pinot Noir. This Central Otago (New Zealand) wine is a balanced and downright delicious wine that we offer to you with our boldest recommendation.
Rockburn produces premium wines of intense varietal characteristics in Central Otago, the world’s most southerly grape-growing region. Central Otago, at 45º south, has a climate similar to Burgundy, France, the great Pinot Noir producing region of the world.
Central Otago has a semi-continental climate and experiences greater daily and seasonal extremes of temperature unknown elsewhere in New Zealand. The area’s unique soil types have a marked influence on vine growth, the flavors of the grapes and the resulting wine.
This fantastic wine is lush and very full on the nose, with a bold, balanced perfume of wild cherry, black cherry, wild strawberry, braised plum, dark chocolate, dry forest, subtle spice, oak and a hint of coffee bean.
Flavors abound in this delicious wine, including black cherry juice, blackberry juice, kola nut, wild strawberry, dried leaves, cedar, mocha and a hint of wild mushroom.
