Gold Standard
Today’s exceptional Grand Napa 2011 Chardonnay is another in a string of wines that gives Rombauer (the gold standard for many of our Operatives) a run for its money. This wine is not as buttery as Rombauer, but it is every bit as flavorful, elegant and delicious.
Rich and full and dense on the nose with baked apple, candied pear, walnut, lemon, dried apricot vanilla, and sweetly toasted oak.
On the palate, this wine is bright , soft and juicy! Flavors of Lemon curd, fresh lemon, pink lady apple, nectarine, white peach, lemon custard, oak and a hint of white pepper at the very end.
This Grand Napa Chardonnay is an exceptionally delicious wine that shows great depth, complexity and finesse. Bright, fresh citrus and tree fruit that lingers on the palate, well into a long finish - with enough weight on the palate to remind you of its presence. This wine’s complexity comes through as it evolves in the glass. Try it right out of the chiller, but watch how it really shines as it warms even slightly in the glass.
This steal of a deal wine is offered to you with our heartiest recommendation.
Tasting Profile
Look: | Dark golden hues with a nearly orange core. This rich-looking wine seems very weighty in the glass, settling quickly after swirling. Thick, ropey tears glide very slowly down the glass wall. |
