2014 Happy Canyon Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc •Jack McGinley Vineyard
California: Santa Barbara County: Happy Canyon
We are very pleased today to offer once more the fresh, delicious and exceptionally food friendly (and flexible!) Parker Wine 2014 Happy Canyon Sauvignon Blanc.
This special wine is really exquisite, especially when you consider its low price. The value is so good that Agent Red has issued a Super QPR Alert, which he only issues when a wine drinks well above its price class. Today’s under-$16 wine drinks like a wine of $30+… which would still be a great price.
Today’s wine is bright and beautiful, with balanced aromas of sweet lemon, lime leaf, geranium, dried hay, lychee, pineapple, green melon, apricot and grapefruit.
On the palate it is bright and juicy, with Meyer lemon, pineapple, apricot, lime flower, hay, yellow grapefruit, cedar and lemongrass with subtle white pepper and walnut.
John Parker has become something of a hero to our in-house spies and our Operatives. Whenever we showcase a Parker wine, they fly off of our shelves. No wonder, either, the wines are always superb.
Light golden yellow, with perfect clarity through and through. After a good swirl, tall, skinny legs start midway up on the glass wall.
Sweet lemon, lime leaf, geranium, dried hay, lychee, pineapple, green melon, apricot and grapefruit.
Meyer lemon, pineapple, apricot, lime flower, hay, yellow grapefruit, cedar and lemongrass with subtle white pepper and walnut.
Long and flavorful, with tropical fruit and grapefruit notes that last a very long time.
Enjoy this wonderfully flexible wine with the traditional fish and fowl dishes. For something off the beaten path, we recommend chargrilled squid served with a salad of avocados, tomatoes, olives and feta cheese.
