Mission Briefing
Barolo Low
Today’s Tenimenti Famiglia Cavallero 2010 Bussia Barolo is a well balanced and full wine with a long-lasting finish. Our Tasting Panel just loved it, and raved over its complex flavors. Wine & Spirits Magazine reviewed it too, giving the wine a 92 point score!
This wine hails from the Piedmont district of Italy. Brothers Claudio and Franco Cavallero started the new La Fenice winery as a collaborative venture with the Ghisolfi family, who have been winemakers for hundreds of years. This Cru Barolo, one of the first from their new winery is complex, earthy and well-balanced.
Bold, lively aromas leap from the glass, with aromas of bold cherry, raspberry, red currant, cranberry and red licorice out in front. As the wine opens up, it reveals gorgeous follow-on aromas of cherry liquor, sweet spice and dried fall leaves.
Silky soft on entry, ushering in old-world-meets-new flavors of Bing cherry, cranberry, cassis, blackberry preserve, dried fall leaves, dried violet, crushed dried red rose petal, toasty cedar, baker’s chocolate, dusty earth and soft black pepper.
This delightful wine is only available in limited quantities and will sell out fast, get some before we sell out. Hurry!

Here’s what Wine & Spirits Magazine has to say:
_“This opens into rich fruit flavors layered with dried porcini, thyme and mint notes, the fruit staying lively as it gains fleshiness with air. A dusting of scrubby Monforte tannins hems in the finish, calling for four to five years in the cellar” - 92 points - Stephanie Johnson, Wine & Spirits Magazine, Dec. 2015
