Welcome to the Wine Spies Intrigue Awards for 2015! Each year we recognize our most popular and sought-after wines from the previous year - while giving our Operatives one final chance to secure some of the winning wines for themselves.
We may never show this wine again, so grab yours while you still can!
Today’s Athair Wines 2012 Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, our Wine Spies 2015 Intrigue Awards winner for Top Elite Wine of the Year, is simply astounding.
As you know, wines from the fabled Beckstoffer vineyard consistently fetch $100 to $300 - sometimes more. It could be easily argued that Beckstoffer fruit is the best in America… and even the world.
We’re very proud to give you the opportunity to enjoy a Beckstoffer-grown Cabernet - for a fraction of the price of other Beckstoffer Cabs. Shipping included on 4 bottles.
Today’s wine is an elegant, complex and outrageously delicious powerhouse of a wine. We simply can’t get enough of it, figuratively and literally. This wine is knock-your-socks-off delicious - and very limited in availability. We’re glad that you have a chance to try this very exciting wine.
Inky, dark maroon with a solid, heavy core and gorgeous garnet edges. When swirled, the wine clings to the inside of the glass.
Lush and deeply fragrant, with bold black cherry, blackberry, blueberry pie, rich spice, lightly toasted oak, sweet tobacco, licorice, grilled fennel, cracked peppercorn and cocoa powder.
Layer upon luscious layer of flavors that perfectly reflect those elements found on the nose.
Incredibly long, with extended dark fruit flavors that tail off gradually as plush, velvet-smooth tannins weave a near mystical tale across your entire palate.
Serve this elegant wine with something deserving of it, like a perfectly cooked filet mignon - or Kobe… or even Wagyu!
