Mission Codename Zinfandel Magic
We are thrilled today to offer you the opportunity to acquire the juicy, balanced and impressive D-Cubed Cellars 2009 Brown Vineyard Zinfandel.
This wine hails from the prestigious Brown Vineyard in the Chiles Valley sub-appellation of the Napa Valley. There aren’t very many vineyards in this challenging region, but those few produce wines that usually create a special kind of bottled magic.
No surprise, really, that this one is, when you consider that this wine was made by Duane Dappen who worked at both Grgich Hills Estate and Storybook Mountain Winery - where he learned how to make fantastic Napa Valley Zinfandels.
Aromas are nicely harmonized, with earthy notes balancing beautifully against dark fruits of blackberry compote, black cherry, Santa Rosa plum, smoky cherry and a hint of mission fig. The earthy elements include dried earth, dusty bramble, dark chocolate, cigar box and slate.
This wine is juicy and darkly bold on the palate with ripe blackberry, blueberry, plum and fig that usher in secondary flavors of cigar box, clove, dusty bramble bush, baker’s chocolate, spice box and black pepper.
This is a highly recommended wine.
