Mission Codename Beautiful River
Welcome to the Wine Spies Intrigue Awards for 2015! Each year we recognize our most popular and sought-after wines from the previous year - while giving our Operatives one final chance to secure some of the winning wines for themselves.
We might never show this wine again, so grab yours while you still can!
Today’s Bellacana Vineyards 2012 Alexander Valley Chardonnay is our Wine Spies 2015 Intrigue Awards winner for Best Buy White and one of those hidden gem wines that we really pride ourselves in sleuthing out for you. Don’t let the low price of this wine deter you. This is one delicious Chardonnay, from one of California’s best Chard-growing regions, the pristine Alexander Valley.
This wine is a creamy, buttery, smoothly delicious Chardonnay from a tiny producer in California’s Burgundy country, the Alexander Valley. If you are looking for a velvety Chardonnay that won’t break the bank, you’ve found a great one here.
On the nose, this wine shows a beautiful melange of Lemon, lime flower, butterscotch, pineapple, lime zest, white peach and a hint of slate.
The palate is creamy and smooth, delivering delicious Meyer lemon, white peach, nectarine, apricot, lime leaf, pineapple and subtle white pepper all across the mouth.
Stock up, Operative! This is a fantastic fall wine that pairs easily and elegantly with a variety of foods. Be sure to keep some on hand for your holiday table.
