Mission Codename Parker's Delight
Peter Franus began his winemaking career at Mount Veeder Winery more than 35 years ago. His experience and skills have led Robert Parker to declare Peter to be “One of California’s finest blenders and winemakers”.
We know that today’s Peter Franus 2013 Fore Family Vineyard Zinfandel will impress you, too!
This wine is full, fun and juicy on the nose, with aromas of Blackberry, raspberry, mulberry, sweet spice, dark chocolate, dried tobacco leaf, mixed spice and black pepper.
Rich, old world flavors coat the palate, driving stewed plum, blackberry compote, dried blueberry, dark spice, cigar box and black pepper to the far corners of the palate.
We encourage you to stock up on this Super QPR (Quality to Price Ratio) wine. Make sure to acquire enough to have on hand as a weekday wine - but don’t hesitate to impress your guests when you pair it with a fancy celebratory meal!

What the wine press has to say:
“This single vineyard Zinfandel is situated up at 3,000 feet, which reminds me of Malbec from Argentina. You get powerful sunlight up there, creating thicker skins, more intense color, and huge diurnal temperature shifts where the wine is ripe at 14.8% alcohol, but extremely balanced because of the acidity from the cool nights.
The wine opens with predominantly red fruits of raspberry and ripe strawberry, showing earth notes of fresh herbs, rosemary and thyme. The wine shows a White Pepper spice, along with some All-Spice notes. The wine is balanced, has a lingering fresh finish, and it makes me want to drink a bottle while firing up the BBQ, and another bottle to go with the BBQ!! - 92 points - Jeff Chandler, WSET Advanced
