Mission Codename Boldy Beautiful
Today’s wine is a Ultra QPR selection that we offer to you with our heartiest recommendation. Don’t miss this one!
We’re super excited today, Operatives! We have the darkly delicious, deviously delectable Graton Ridge 2014 Petite Sirah.
This wine is one of the darkest, richest Petites that we’ve shown in some time. If you love bold flavors, a velvety feel and aromatics that leap from the glass, we guarantee that you’ll love this wine.
Winemaker Erica Stancliff pulled out all the stops with this rich and delicious wine! This Petite is a ready-to-drink gem with luscious flavors and dark, rich aromas.
This wine is very dark and rich on the nose, with aromas of grilled plum, grilled cherry, blackberry preserve, smoked meats, molasses, chocolate covered blueberry, tar and dark mixed spice.
Full, round and juicy on the palate, with delicious flavors of blackberry jam, black cherry juice, cassis, grilled black plum, molasses, brown sugar, soft mixed spice, and subtle flint mineral.
This wine is ready to drink now, but we suggest that you cellar some as well - if you have the patience. This wine will get better and better over the next couple of years, so be sure to buy enough to keep some on hand. It’ll be really fun to see how this wine develop as it matures.
Petite Sirah is something of a rarity in California, with less than 3500 acres planted. Getting a great Petite seems like even more of a rarity, so when Agent Red had the great fortune to come across this particular Petite, he was very happy.
