Extra Extra
Today’s Super Spy Sunday Selection is the Munselle 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, an incredible wine - and an incredible value. Our 51% off price makes this luxurious wine one to stock up on.
This wine drinks beautifully now, but we’ll be enjoying our stash for the next 10 to 20 years. We don’t think that the wine has even reached its peak!
Very aromatic and very lush on the nose, with beautiful blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, bramble bush, soft spice, subtle mocha and a hint of anise.
This perfectly aged wine is loaded with complex flavors of stewed blackberry & plum, black cherry, dark spice, dusty bramble, espresso bean, flinty mineral, cracked pepper and savory herbs.
Today’s incredible wine is proof that the Alexander Valley is producing wines that rival those from California’s king of wine regions, the Napa Valley.
Don’t miss out on this truly fantastic wine.
Tasting Profile
Look: | Dark maroon hues, with purple edges. Swirl the wine and skinny, wine-colored tears descend from high up on the glass wall. |
---|---|
Smell: | Blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, bramble bush, leather, tobacco, soft spice, subtle mocha and a hint of anise. |
Taste: | Stewed blackberry & plum, black cherry, dark spice, dusty bramble, supple leather, cigar box, espresso bean, flinty mineral, cracked pepper and savory herbs. |
Finish: | Fruits, earth, and spice persist for a very long time. As they fade, a plush, elegant, crushed velvet grippiness spreads across the palate. |
Pairing: | Enjoy this very elegant wine with braised beef brisket with horseradish sauce, or a grilled steak with peppercorn butter. |
