Fresh, floral and tropical on the nose, with orange blossom, lemon, golden delicious apple, young nectarine, slate mineral and subtle fennel frond.
Bright up-front flavors of lemon curd, Meyer lemon, apricot, pineapple and Granny Smith apple are followed by rich flavors of butter rum, river rock, lemongrass and very subtle anise seed.
We’ve had the great pleasure to have featured Saddleback wines these last 6+ years, and in that time we’ve gotten to know Nils Venge (America’s first 100 Point winemaker) and his wonderful winemaking team. We have no problem declaring our love.
We purchased every case we could get our hands on of today’s unique Saddleback Cellars 2013 Lake County Albarino, but it may not last the day.
At today’s steal of a price, we recommend that you stock up…
Medium golden yellow, with perfect, gem-like clarity and glistening edges. Tall, skinny tears moved slowly down the glass wall after a good swirl.
Orange blossom, lemon, golden delicious apple, young nectarine, slate mineral and subtle fennel frond.
Lemon curd, Meyer lemon, apricot, pineapple, Granny Smith apple, butter rum, river rock, lemongrass and very subtle anise seed.
Extra long, with bright fruits giving way to rich, mouth filling flavors that fade gradually, ultimately to be replaced by a gentle, puckering dryness.
Richer seafood, chicken or pork would be best with this lovely wine. We recommend a herbed beer can chicken with this delightful, food friendly white.
