Mission Codename Long Ranging
Galante Vineyards is back after a lengthy absence from our site. And they are back with a wine that was voted Top Monterey County Cabernet Sauvignon - for the fourth year running!
Jack Galante’s delicious Galante Vineyards 2010 Red Rose Hill Carmel Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is the newest vintage of a wine that we first featured eight years ago, with the 2003 vintage. Successive vintages have been superb, but there is something really special about today’s 2010.
This wine is juicy, plump, bright and loaded with flavor. It is a brilliant companion for a wide range of food pairing choices, from the traditional red meat dishes to more exotic fare.
Very fragrant and full on the nose, with black cherry, blackberry, plum and bramble out front. Inhale more deeply and intoxicating aromas of smoked cherry, dried tobacco leaf, cedar, spice box, red currant, raspberry candy and toasted vanilla.
On the palate, this wine is bursting with ripe, balanced flavors of bold black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, violet, pomegranate, chocolate, toasted oak, cherry liquor, cigar box, soft spice, soft cracked pepper, subtle sage and a subtle hint of anise.
Very highly recommended!
