Mission Codename Boss Heath
We absolutely love the wines of Michael Muscardini. You know what? Michael himself is wonderful, too. Wonderful and very talented, just like his winemaking grandfather before him.
Today’s 95 point wine is the stupendous Muscardini Cellars 2013 Madrone Ridge Vineyard Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is a mouthful - in every sense of the word. Our allocation is very limited and, while we’ve begged the winery for more, high scoring wines like this are held closely by their creators.
Deeply fragrant and layered on the nose, with sweet cherry, smoky raspberry, jammy mixed berry, pomegranate, dark chocolate, cedar, spice box, earthy tobacco and slate mineral.
On the palate, this wine is bold, juicy and delicious, with flavors of bright Bing cherry, young strawberry, raspberry juice, dark spice, cocoa powder, sweet toasted oak, vanilla, tobacco leaf and cracked pepper.
Drink now, but be sure to cellar a case to enjoy over the next decade or two. This wine is really built to last.
Enjoy!!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
“This wine Features pronounced aromas of dark berries, espresso beans, licorice, citrus peel, allspice, and cigar box. The deep flavors are layered with explosive notes of ripe blackberry, dark plum, cherry, black olive, clove, and dark chocolate.
The texture is rich with firm structure, smooth tannins and a long, rewarding finish. This wine is worthy of aging in the bottle for a decade.” - 95 points - Chris Sawyer
