Mission Codename The Equestrian
We have another stunning steal of a deal for you today, dear Operative. At 45% off, today’s Tamber Bey 2011 Rabicano Red Wine is a rich, juicy, delicious bargain.
This delicious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot was made by winemaker Frederic Delivert, whose distinguished career has included the crafting of some of the highest scoring wines from Newton, Far Niente, Duckhorn, Hafner, Plumpjack and Cade.
Bold and very full on the nose, with Bing cherry, smoky cranberry, wild strawberry, twigs, cedar, dried rose petals, blackberry jam and subtle mixed spice.
On the palate, rich, concentrated flavors flow to the far corners of the mouth. Rich, layered and bold, with braised plum, blackberry jam, cassis, cedar, cigar box, baker’s chocolate, dried violets, black pepper and subtle tobacco leaf.
Deux Chevaux Vineyard, where today’s wine was born, is a 60-acre parcel situated north-east of the town of Yountville, in the Yountville Appellation. The vineyard is bordered by two waterways; Conn Creek runs the length of the eastern border of the vineyard and the Napa River runs along the western corner.
Planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Malbec, this vineyard is influenced to a great degree by the San Francisco Bay and the early morning fog and late afternoon winds that it generates.
Tamber Bey Vineyards currently produces eight wines from this vineyard, including today’s very highly recommended Tamber Bey 2011 Rabicano Red Wine.
