On the nose, this wine is incredibly aromatic and bold, with aromas of blackberry preserve, mocha, smoky cherry, pipe tobacco, flint, grilled fig, dried meat, twigs, spice and a hint of cracked pepper.

On the palate, serious and big, with flavors of blackberry reduction, black cherry, grilled cherry, grilled fig, spice box, licorice, flint, graphite, cedar, coffee bean, cocoa dust, tobacco leaf and pepper.

Winemaker, Heidi von der Mehden, learned her craft at Kenwood and Mauritson, but perfected it under the guidance of her biggest career mentor, Richard ‘Dick’ Arrowood. As evidenced by today’s deep, delicious wine, Heidi is one heck of a winemaker. We look forward to tasting more of her wines in the future!
