Mission Codename Arrow is soul
Today’s 2014 Joseph Belli Vineyard Russian River Valley Chardonnay hails from Richard Arrowood’s Amapola Creek winery. This wine earned the adoration - and a 95 point score - from Robert Parker.
We love this creamy, fresh, bright and delicious Chardonnay from one of the wine world’s best winemakers, Dick Arrowood. The winery itself has sold out - but we have a small allocation available, exclusively for our Operatives.
Dick was one of the very first people that Agent Red met when he started Wine Spies nearly 10 years ago. Dick is a jovial, approachable and warm person whose character is reflected in the delicious wines that he crafts.
Today’s wine is very aromatic and lively on the nose, with aromas of white peach, pear, honeysuckle, acacia, nectarine, citrus, pineapple, and butterscotch.
Creamy and fresh on the palate, with flavors of lemon curd, citrus flower, white peach, pear, pineapple, Granny Smith apple, light spice, butterscotch and a subtle hint of white pepper.
Today’s Amapola 2014 Joseph Belli Vineyard Russian River Valley Chardonnay is an incredible wine. Reserve yours soon, we will sell out of this very highly recommended beauty!

What the wine press has to say:
95 points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate Mar 2016 - “The two vintages of Chardonnay I tasted come from the Jos. Belli Vineyard in Russian River. The 2014 Chardonnay Jos. Belli Vineyards is no slouch either.
Coming in at 13.9% alcohol, there are 420 cases of this wine, which has a light golden color, crushed tangerines and mandarin oranges along with white currant and possibly some quince and floral notes. The wine displays terrific fruit intensity, medium to full body, zesty acidity and a long finish. Drink it over the next 4-6 years.”

★★★★1/2 - Peg Melnik, The Press Democrat - “Striking. Generous fruit, good complexity. Notes of apple, melon and creme brulee. Bold, yet balanced. Knockout.”
