Mission Codename Sunshine in a bottle
Today’s California Wine Co. 2013 Chardonnay is a steal of a deal - for one of the food-friendliest, juiciest and funnest (yes, we know that’s not a word, but it applies!) Chardonnays we’ve tried in a while.
At this price, this wine is also one of the best Chardonnay values we’ve shown in some time. Steal some while you can.
Rich and sunny on the nose, with Granny Smith apple, golden delicious apple, Asian pear, white peach, nectarine, Meyer lemon, vanilla custard, orange blossom and flinty minerals.
On the palate, this wine is bright, round and richly flavored with Meyer lemon, lemon custard, green apple, lime leaf, lemon blossom, apricot, and flint.
If you love the wines of Andy Phipps, whom we’ve featured numerous times, you know that this Gold Medal winning wine (International Craft Competition 2016) - and very highly recommended wine will be fantastic.
Serving recommendation: While this wine is delicious right out of the chiller, we recommend that you swirl it in your glass, allowing it to warm slightly. Pay attention to how the texture and flavors evolve (and improve!) as the wine warms in your glass. It really does transform into something so very delightful and delicious.
Enjoy!
