Mission Codename Emerson, Brown & Delicious
Today’s Emerson Brown Wines 2014 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a plush, elegant and very powerful gem of a wine. We fell in love at first inhalation. When we sipped the wine, it was all over for us… We snapped up every case that we could get our hands on.
The Emerson Brown winery was born of a collaboration between long established winemakers Keith Emerson and Brian Brown, each of whom have held postings at some of the world’s most prestigious wineries. Keith and Brian spent their early careers making wines for Robert Craig, Trefethen, Vineyard 29, Gundlach Bundschu and Round Pond Estate.
Now they make wine for you, under their exciting Emerson Brown label.
Their focus is on Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Today’s very highly recommended wine is a classic, elegant, fruit-driven Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with all the charm and swagger we’ve come to expect from the Cabernet King-making Napa Valley. Deeply fragrant, with sweet, softly spiced aromas of blackberry and raspberry jam, stewed blueberry, braised fig, grilled plum, spice box, sweet licorice, subtle tobacco and a hint of black pepper.
This 94 point (Robert Parker) wine is offered to you with our fullest recommendation - and our guarantee that if you don’t love it, we’ll buy it back!
Drinking bold and powerful at the moment, we recommend decanting for best results. We also recommend that you stock enough of this wine to enjoy over the next decade or more. We’re really excited to see how this wine will progress as it ages.

Here’s what Robert Parker had to say about the previous vintage:
94 points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate - “The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa, which is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon (14.5% alcohol), comes primarily from valley floor and foothill vineyards in Oakville, Rutherford and Calistoga. Impressively well-made, with sweet blackcurrant fruit intermixed with licorice, loamy soil undertones and a touch of new oak, the wine is full-bodied, fleshy, succulent, and well-built.
This wine from Emerson & Brown, assistants of Philippe Melka, is a great value by Napa Cabernet Sauvignon standards and should drink nicely for 10-15 years.”
