Mission Codename Best of the vine
Of today’s wine, Agent Red said, “I have to admit something to you. I’ve never been a big fan of the mass market wines of La Crema. However, when I first tasted their limited production Appellation Series wines, I fell in l-o-v-e Love! So much so that I purchased every bottle that I could get my hands on. I know that my Operatives will love it, too.”
Today’s wine is the 90 point (Robert Parker) La Crema Winery 2013 Appellation Series Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, This wine is a blend of some of the winery’s finest vineyard sources in the seat of California Pinot Noir, the Russian River Valley.
RRV Pinotphiles will recognize the Piner, Bones Road, Olivet, Barbieri, Shiloh, and Saralee’s vineyards. These vineyard sources are regarded as some of the most sought-after in the RRV.
Lush and very fragrant one the nose, with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, wild mushroom, cedar, violet, subtle spice, subtle resin, subtle espresso bean and a hint of anise.
Impressive and richly flavored, with bold cherry and blackberry compote, dark chocolate covered cherry, dried dark flower petals, subtle sweet tobacco leaf, Mission fig, and oak, with intriguing and delicious hints of walnut and graphite.
If you love great Pinot Noir, grab some now. If you want an impressive wine that you can’t buy at your local grocery, grab some now. If you want to be the only kid on the block with this highly recommended wine, grab a bunch now.

What the wine press has to say:
90 points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate - “At 12,155 cases, the delicious 2013 Pinot Noir Russian River is the largest cuvée. It exhibits classic notes from Russian River, including loamy soil/earthy notes along with black cherry jam, baking spices and fruit cake aromas as well as a hint of sassafras.
This is a meaty, fleshy, reasonably well-endowed Pinot Noir to drink over the next 2-4 years.”
