Today’s Kendall-Jackson 2013 Grand Reserve Sonoma County Merlot is made from the top 7% off KJs wine lots. This wine is 100% estate grown, certified sustainable by the CCSW (Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing) and SIP (Sustainability in Practice) certified.
It is an inexpensive treat that drinks like a much more expensive wine, making it a true High QPR steal.
Lush and fragrant - and a pleasure to inhale deeply - this wine exudes aromas of Bing cherry, wild strawberry, blackberry jam, cassis, Santa Rosa plum, cigar box, sweet oak and a hint of cracked peppercorn.
Very rich and flavorful, with black plum compote, grilled fig, smoky cherry, cigar box, dusty bramble, cocoa powder, dried earth, black currant, licorice and black pepper.
Kendall-Jackson wines are not all created equal. This wine, from the Grand Reserve series, is a really superb wine that isn’t widely available. Most of our Operatives won’t find this wine at their local grocery, or even their finer bottle shops.
We have it though, at a price that - once you’ve tasted it - that will make you feel like you stole it!

Dark purple at its heart, lighter purple at the edges. Tightly-packed legs move very slowly down the glass wall, foretelling the elegant feel of the wine.
Bing cherry, wild strawberry, blackberry jam, cassis, Santa Rosa plum, cigar box, sweet oak and a hint of cracked peppercorn.
Black plum compote, grilled fig, smoky cherry, cigar box, dusty bramble, cocoa powder, dried earth, black currant, licorice and black pepper.
Initially lightweight on entry, this wine becomes quickly grippy as it transports flavors to the far corners of the palate.
The great thing about a solid Merlot like this one is that it can be paired with almost anything. We recommend something red and meaty, like a grilled Porterhouse with mushrooms, caramelized onions and bleu cheese. YUM!
