Mission Codename The Straddler
Today’s Joseph Cellars 2011 Cellar Select Cabernet Sauvignon is a stunner! Flavors and aromatics are through the roof. On the palate, this wine is delicious and very elegant. It delivers everything you’d expect from a luxury Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon - without the stellar price tag.
The winery’s vineyard straddles the Calistoga Appellation & Diamond Mountain Appellation, making it somewhat unique. The vineyard sits at the very foot of Mount St. Helena & the Palisades, providing breathtaking views from the valley floor.
Incredibly long and full of flavor throughout, this wine leads with the fresh fruit flavors before it turns more dark, serious and savory, with tobacco, spice, chocolate and pepper lasting until the very end.
Stunningly aromatic on the nose with aromas of chocolate covered cherry, cherry preserve, cranberry, cherry tobacco, maple leaves, dark spice, dried mushroom, cedar and a hint of cracked pepper.
Incredibly flavorful and very elegant on the palate, with bold blackberry, black cherry, cassis, plum, grilled mission fig, cranberry, smoky cherry, dark chocolate, cherry tobacco, dried fall leaves and cracked pepper.
This delicious, Ultra QPR (Quality to Price Ratio) wine is offered to you with our boldest recommendation.
Remember, we offer FREE Temperature-Controlled shipping during the hot summer months. Add optional ice packs if your local area is hot, and your wine will arrive in great condition!
