Mission Codename PeterStun
Welcome back Peterson Winery! Today we’re featuring the newest vintage of the wine that made Peterson so popular with our Operatives, their fabulous Petite Sirah.
Today’s today’s 90 point (WE) Peterson Winery 2012 Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah is downright fantastic - and very approachable, very drinkable. It is bold, luscious, and very flavorful - without being over the top.
This wine is very aromatic, with sweet and spicy notes offering a sensory portend of what’s to come on the palate. Blackberry jam, blueberry, smoky cherry, cassis, dark spice, cedar, white spice, and darkly toasted oak.
Bold flavors burst onto the palate, with blackberry juice, stewed blueberry, black cherry, toast, graphite, tobacco, seared fig and mixed dark spice.
We’re currently enjoying Peterson wines from a decade ago, when Wine Spies first came to know this wonderful winery. This wine is drinking beautifully now, and we can’t wait to see how it progresses over the next decade - or more.

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
90 points - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast - “A tang of black cherry and citrus elevates the palate of this light-bodied wine, which is soft and well integrated in terms of oak and tannin. With 86% Petite Sirah and 7% Carignane, it’s strong in leather and black pepper, with a lean, juicy finish.”
Remember, we offer FREE Temperature-Controlled shipping during the hot summer months. Add optional ice packs if your local area is hot, and your wine will arrive in great condition!
