Elegance with Attitude
Today’s featured wine is the impressive, delectable and budget-friendly Porter Family 2012 Irreverence Napa Valley Barrel Select Merlot.
If you’ve never enjoyed the wonders that are Porter Family wines, today is your lucky day! This Merlot is one of the finest Napa Merlots we’ve ever featured.
This elegant wine was made by Ken Bernards, who is widely regarded as one of California’s most visionary winemakers. Since his first wine posting in 1986, Ken has been involved in winemaking at Domaine Chandon, Yorba, Matetic, his own Ancien label - and for many other California wine companies.
The wines that Ken makes with Porter Family, whose vineyards sit above Napa’s Coombsville area, are regarded as his finest works.
Today’s wine is deeply fragrant, with aromas of plum, blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, clove, baker’s chocolate, dried fall leaves, tobacco, dark spice and a hint of red peppercorn.
Juicy flavors rush the front palate with cherry juice, cranberry, black cherry and red currant. These are followed by cocoa dust, dried tobacco leaf, cigar box and a hint of clove spice.
Don’t miss out on this very impressive wine - at our equally impressive price. Quantity is limited, so please don’t delay in making your selection.
Remember, we offer FREE Temperature-Controlled shipping during the hot summer months. Add optional ice packs if your local area is hot, and your wine will arrive in great condition!

Deep, dark scarlet hues, through and through. Bouncy when swirled, giving an indication of the weight of the wine. Short, fat legs move very slowly down the glass wall.

Extra long, with dark juice flavors that slowly give way to earth and spice flavors that persist as plush tannins drive a plush dryness to the far corners of the palate.
Enjoy this very food-friendly wine with slow cooked roast beef, grilled lamb chops, jambalaya or black-eyed peas with smoked ham or chorizo.
