Mission Codename Paso Rosso
We usually reserve our really deep discounts for Super Spy Sunday, but I could not resist showing you today’s silky smooth, food friendly wine, the delicious Doce Robles 2010 Sangiovese.
This wine will thrill you with its bold aromas and soft & silky entry onto the palate - at a price that feels like stealing.
Bright and intense, with beautifully layered aromas of rich cherry, alpine strawberry, tart cherry, cranberry, dried rose petal, twigs, violets, roasted chestnuts, dried cherry and mixed spice.
Juicy flavors of black cherry, blackberry and cranberry meld with soft spice, leather, blueberry candy, grilled plum, dried leaves, spiced cedar and a hint of white pepper.
The small-production Doce Robles Winery is the very first winery to have appeared on the now winery-heavy Highway 46. Doce Roles’ neighbors include the likes of Peachy Canyon, Sextant and Castoro Cellars… to name just a few.
Doce Robles planted their vineyards in 1996, to Barbera, Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Primitivo, Petite Sirah and Malbec were also planted in 2010 and 2012.
