Hurry, please… Today’s Meteor Vineyard 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is such an extraordinary and in-demand wine that our allocation will not likely last the day. This waiting-list wine is yours - at a price that should make you feel like you’re stealing the wine from us.

Enjoy. You deserve the best!

For those that don’t know, Meteor Vineyard Cabs are some of the most exclusive and most sought-after wines of the Napa Valley. We’re blessed to be able to show you this exquisite wine - and offer it to you at such a fantastic price.

One could spend hours with one’s nose deep in the glass, deeply inhaling all of the wonders that this wine exudes. Wave upon wave of aromas waft out of the glass, led by spiced blackberry & blueberry jam, followed by black cherry, spice box, leather tobacco pouch, baker’s chocolate, cassis, flint, dark spice, graphite and, finally, cracked pepper.

One sip of this wine and its elegance and grandeur pour into your soul - along with some of the most incredible flavors. In the lead, bold blackberry & plum preserve with dark spice. This opulent beginning is followed closely by black cherry, cassis, leather, cigar box, dark chocolate, grilled plum, grilled mission fig, grilled meat, graphite and black pepper.

Internet pioneer and all around nice guy, Barry Schuler, the owner of Meteor Vineyard, started in 1998 with a simple goal: Make a world-leading Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon possible. And so he hired viticulturist Mike Wolf to plant the vineyard.

He also hired one of the best winemakers we know, Dawnine Dyer (Dawnine’s Dyer Wines are some of our best-selling). This dream team has gone on to make some of the finest wines that the Napa Valley can produce.

Learn more about Meteor Vineyard in this very informative video, featuring Dawnine Dyer, Andy Erickson (of Favia), and John Preist (of Etude) :

This 10-year-old wine is perfectly aged and ready to enjoy now. We expect that it hasn’t even reached its peak yet, so be sure to pick up a few extra bottles to hide in your cellar!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:

92 points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate - “This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Coombsville area of southern Napa exhibits an opaque purple color as well as an attractive bouquet of blue and black fruits intermixed with toasty oak, licorice, tobacco leaf, and underlying earthy notes.

Impressively concentrated, medium to full-bodied, pure, textured, and long, this 2006 is approachable now, and should continue to drink well for 15 years.”

Remember, we offer FREE Temperature-Controlled shipping during the hot summer months. Add optional ice packs if your local area is hot, and your wine will arrive in great condition!

Tasting Profile

Look:

Visually striking rich, mahogany hues throughout the slightly opaque heart of this pretty wine. Spin the wine, and round after round of wine-stained tears beat a slow but steady march downward… to the sanguine ring that cuts a serious, beautiful loop around the wine.

Smell:

Spiced blackberry & blueberry jam, black cherry, spice box, leather tobacco pouch, baker’s chocolate, cassis, flint, dark spice, graphite and, cracked pepper.

Taste:

Bold blackberry & plum preserve with dark spice, black cherry, cassis, leather, cigar box, dark chocolate, grilled plum, grilled mission fig, grilled meat, graphite and black pepper.

Finish:
Bold flavors morph on the palate, starting with dark fruits, leading to grilled fruits, to spice, back to dark fruits and then, finally, graphite, spice and black pepper.
~
Tannins are remarkably smooth for such a bold and flavorful wine. Eventually, a mineral-laden dryness spreads across the whole palate, drying tongue, lips and cheeks.
Pairing:

We’re pairing our Meteor with the finest cuts of grilled red meats that we can find. Kobe, Wagyu or a nice filet would be ideal!
