Mission Codename Wynn-er
Today’s 96 point - Wynns Coonawarra Estate Black Label 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is complex, elegant, balanced and chock full of complex, delicious flavors and succulent aromas.
Our Agent Red declares this wine to be “one of the best Aussie cabs I’ve ever tasted!”. The rest of us completely agree!
Today’s wine is a complex Cabernet. This powerful, elegant and delicious wine highlights Australia’s Coonawarra region as one that produces wines of distinctive character and great quality.
A bounty of wondrous aromatics explode out of the glass, with black cherry, strawberry, raspberry, spice box, sweet tobacco leaf, dried red rose petal, toasty oak, chocolate dust and subtle spiced cherry candy.
Delicious flavors cascade onto the palate, with raspberry juice, black cherry juice, cranberry, blueberry compote, sweet tobacco, subtle mixed spice, bramble bush, chocolate covered cherry and a hint of black pepper.
This is a Cabernet Sauvignon that is built to please your senses, impress your friends and - at today’s special price - leave you with a satisfied smile at having made such a smart wine purchase!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
96 points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion - “Another wine from Wynns and the ‘12 vintage that shows a significant change in winemaking direction, with the alcohol of 13.5%.
While the Woodley Treasure Chest wines were basically shiraz, none wholly cabernet sauvignon, this wine has a structure those wines had in their early maturity. What is most interesting here is the early development on the palate of savory flavors and firm tannins, yet allowing the fruit to maintain its line through to the all-important finish, where balance is not in question.”

94 points - Wilfred Wong of Wine.com, February 12, 2016 - “A picture of Coonawarra perfection, the expansive 2012 Wynns Cabernet Sauvignon is as multidimensional as a cab can get. While one can get too glib about this wine by simply calling it elegant, I am more inclined to label this one as intricate and refined.
Dark ruby in color; alluring aromas of ripe red and blue fruits with an accent of flowers, excellent depth and persistence; medium bodied with supple textures and sweet tannins; delicious juicy berries in the flavors; long finish and quite lush in the aftertaste. Perfect with grilled chicken as well as a well-marbled, charred on the outside, ribeye of beef.”
