Mission Codename The Mystic
Today’s wine is a really jazzy, delicious and unique red blend that drinks way above its price class.
This is another stunner from Dan Fitzgerald, who honed his winemaking skills at Williams-Selyem Winery and Robert Sinskey Vineyards. If you haven’t tasted Dan’s wine, this is your chance to try one that delivers tremendous value - at a relatively low price.
Aromas are bright and fresh, with wild strawberry, Bing cherry, raspberry and cranberry cocktail that meld with pie spice, bramble, dried fall leaves, toasty oak, vanilla and soft black pepper.
Juicy flavors burst onto the palate, with cherry juice, cranberry cocktail, and raspberry, followed by tobacco, toasty oak, rose petals, red licorice, vanilla, coffee bean, pie spice and a subtle hint of cracked peppercorn.
This delightful wine carries the North Coast AVA (American Viticultural Area ) designation, making it a blend of grapes from three of the North Coasts regions.
The North Coast AVA is an American Viticultural Area in the state of California that encompasses grape-growing regions in six counties that are located north of San Francisco: Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Sonoma, and Solano. This large appellation covers more than 3,000,000 acres and includes a number of smaller sub-appellations that all share the common ecological characteristic of having its weather affected by the cool fog and breezes of the Pacific Ocean.
Dan Fitzgerald has crafted a uniquely delicious and juicy blend with today’s wine. It is comprised of 50% Pinot Meunier, 40% Sangiovese, 7% Zinfandel and 3% Gewurtztraminer. That’s right, there is a splash of white wine in the red blend, with the Gewurtztraminer adding a bit of brightness and lift.
We offer you this wine with our boldest recommendation, Operative. We think that you’ll love it as much as we do. In fact, we guarantee that you’ll love it!
Remember, we offer FREE Temperature-Controlled shipping during the hot summer months. Add optional ice packs if your local area is hot, and your wine will arrive in great condition!
