Mission Codename Great Day's Knight
Today’s offering is a very special wine! If you love juicy, boldly concentrated wines, today’s Three Knights Vineyards 2012 Knights Valley Cabernet Franc is for you.
It certainly was for Agent Red… and our whole tasting panel. This special wine was loved by all. In fact, we were just plain bonkers over its layer upon layer of balanced flavors.
Aromas are bold, but balanced beautifully. Bing cherry, spice box, raspberry, cedar, leather, anise, bramble, young strawberry, spiced cherry candy, cocoa and a hint of graphite.
This wine explodes onto the palate, with bold, concentrated and dense flavors of blackberry juice, raspberry, cranberry, strawberry, grilled plum, bramble, leather, dried fall leaves, spice box, graphite and, ultimately, black pepper.
The nose and palate are unquestionably juicy and delicious, but wait until you experience that extended, dynamic finish. Flavors arrive in wave after widely spaced wave of groupings. That is to say that fruits arrive first, hang around for a long time, then the next wave arrives, this time carrying spice. The next carries more earthy elements like cedar and graphite.
This wine is super juicy and pretty bold and so not for the meek. However, if you love fun, you’ll probably love this wine.

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
Beverage Testing Institute - “Garnet ruby color. Inviting aromas of smoky, cherry, plum, and brisket with a soft, dry medium body and a smooth, complex, medium-long, cherry, plum, barbecue, and dried fig finish with soft tannins and light oak. Layers of smoky, savory flavor unfold amidst silky smooth berry, plum and cherry fruit that continue through the long and complex finish.”
