A Riesling for Everything
Today’s Kendall Jackson 2014 Vintner’s Reserve Riesling really took me by surprise! We don’t often have the opportunity to taste many excellent Rieslings here in America. Most of the best ones are German-born.
From the initial pour, we quickly realized that today’s unique white has everything that you hope for in a Riesling: a beautiful light straw in the glass and that delightful acidic pop, delicately nuanced flavors and a very refreshing overall appeal.
This wine is refreshing and bright, one of the best American Rieslings we’ve tasted. It is both super food friendly and eminently enjoyable by itself.
Please hurry, as this crowd-pleasing refresher is only available in limited quantity.

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
Jim Gordon, Wine Enthusiast - “Mildly sweet and soft-textured, it offers lots of honey and apple flavors. These are backed up by crisp, citrus-like acidity that adds balance and keeps the flavors lively all the way through the finish. It’s very tasty and well-rounded.”
Tasting Profile
Look: | Beautifully clear and bright with golden straw tones. |
---|---|
Smell: | Bursting with aromas of pear and stone fruits the way a Riesling should. There are some spice notes and just a hint of sea spray, belying its coastal vineyard origins. |
Taste: | Lush and refreshing, with peach and apricot on the palate along with bright white flowers and a crisp backbone of acidity to keep it unified. |
Finish: | Clean and clear with a soft coating of peach that makes you want another glass….and another…and another. |
Pairing: | Light salads and baked poultry. I want this one with Thanksgiving dinner! Turkey, stuffing, and yams scream for this wine! |
