Mission Codename The Red Angel
Rejoice! Today marks the long-anticipated return of St. Supery, with their multi-award winning St. Supery 2012 Elu Napa Valley Red Wine.
This wine is the winery’s flagship red blend, and a very bold, juicy and well-balanced treat that will impress lovers of traditional Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Where a Cab might be too powerful for more subtle food pairing choices, this wine is super friendly and very flexible. Pair it with a wide variety of food choices.
Heady and very aromatic on the nose, with balanced aromas of ripe blackberry, cherry, spiced strawberry, cherry bark, cassis, flint, very subtle spice, and a hint of brown sugar.
On the palate, this wine is ripe and layered, with bold (but balanced) flavors of black cherry, blackberry preserve, mixed brown spice, cherry wood, toasty oak, bold baker’s chocolate, flint and a hint of black pepper at the very end.
The grapes for this delicious wine comes from vineyards in Rutherford. This region is, of course, the most famous of AVA’s in Napa Valley for Cabernet Sauvignon.
Located at the center of Napa Valley its soils are of volcanic ancestry combined with sediment from the San Francisco bay’s ancient original boundary and are primarily gravel, loam, and sand. This, combined with exceptional winemaking and a nearly ideal climate, results in vineyards of the highest quality and esteem.
We have a limited quantity of today’s multi-award winning St. Supery 2012 Elu Napa Valley Red Wine, so please reserve yours soon.

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
94 points - Robert Parker Jr, Wine Advocate - "”The 2012 Proprietary Red Elu is composed of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 10% Malbec and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The star of this portfolio, it boasts a deep ruby/purple color, sweet licorice, blackcurrant, graphite and blackberry notes, a dense, full-bodied, voluptuously textured personality, and 10-15 years of aging potential.”
~
91 points - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast - “This signature blend combines a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It takes a classical approach to the Bordeaux-inspired blend, capturing dried herb and peppercorn in abundance. The wild bouquet delves into floral, feral elements of forest and concentrated cassis, finishing lean.”
