Coming up Rosés
Greetings Operative!
We’ve got a truly special Rosé for you today, from start up winery Ruttledge & Smith. Their Ruttledge & Smith 2015 Napa Valley Rose of Petite Sirah is an incredible find.
First off, this Rosé is made with Petite Sirah, which is a first for us here at Wine Spies HQ. The wine is super aromatic, very flavorful and… it was made at RustRidge Winery, a Wine Spies favorite.
Wonderfully fragrant on the nose, with aromas of white cherry juice, watermelon, nectarine, pomegranate, and subtle white spice.
Stunning flavors burst onto the palate, with Bing cherry juice, white grape, watermelon jolly rancher candy, nectarine, young yellow peach, and very subtle grilled cherry.
All of us here absolutely adore this great wine.
Be sure to have a few bottles on hand for your holiday entertaining. This wine has enough fruit to be paired with a variety of foods… even with an appetizer course.
Very highly recommended.
Tasting Profile
Look: | Light ruby red hues with perfect translucency throughout. Fat, tightly packed tears move very slowly downward after swirling the wine. |
---|---|
Smell: | White cherry juice, watermelon, nectarine, pomegranate, and subtle white spice. |
Taste: | Bing cherry juice, white grape, watermelon jolly rancher candy, nectarine, young yellow peach, and very subtle grilled cherry. |
Finish: | Insanely long for a Rosé, with fruit flavors that persist to the vey end. Ultimately, clean, slightly drying and mouthwatering at the very end. |
Pairing: | The winery nails it with their recommendation of Thai curry, Indian food and tomato laden Italian cuisine. Add to this list grilled chicken and grilled fish. |
