Grand Slam
Looking for a wine that knocks it out of the park? Today’s Maroon Wines 2013 Single-Vineyard Reserve Merlot is a real grand slam of a wine.
Our special relationship with Maroon allows us access to what other wine merchants can only wish for, and we’re so proud of that. Because we’re so tight with Maroon, we’re offered special pricing - that allows us to pass the savings along to you.
Super aromatic, with bold aromas of black cherry, blackberry, savory herbs, red currant, soft spice, lightly toasted oak, red licorice and a hint of pepper.
Darkly juicy and bold, with a rush of flavor, starting with black cherry and blackberry cocktail, and leading to dried fall leaves, savory herbs, flint, red licorice, subtle dark spice - with a hint of grilled fennel at the very end.
Today’s wine is rich, balanced and incredibly good with so many different types of food, from fine cuisine, to backyard burgers or a plate of spaghetti.
Enjoy this wine with my fullest recommendation.
Tasting Profile
Look: | Deep, dark red with a dark but translucent heart. Spin the wine and tall, chunky legs adhere high up on the glass wall, running downward, streaking the glass with ruby. |

Finish: | Bold fruit flavors last for a very long time, ultimately fading as soft tannins take hold, gradually drying the palate, leaving behind a soft dryness that encourages you to take another juicy sip. |
Pairing: | This is Merlot, so pair it with almost anything. The food-friendliness of this wine makes it easy to pair with everything from grilled meats, to fish, pork, appetizer courses and more. We’ll serve ours with a giant plate of spaghetti and meatballs! |
