Tiny pearls
Are you ready for the flurry of upcoming holiday celebrations? We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a really superb sparkling wine.
This sparkler is one of the most flavorful bubblies we’ve ever shown. Flavors are downright delicious and the mousse is like tasty, elegant foam on the palate.
This is an impressive wine that fetches $75 at retail, but we have it for just $33.99. That’s 55% off!
This aged-to-perfection wine was only recently released. The winery held it back from release until it was just perfect. We think that this wine is better than perfect… it is downright fantastic, with some of the best, most authentic fruit flavors we’ve ever tasted in a sparkling wine.
The fruit for this delicious treat comes from the winery’s Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards in the Carneros region. Some of our favorite wines come from the Carneros viticultural area, a wine growing region which straddles the Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley.
The Carneros region ranks as one of the Wine Spies’ top choices for the Burgundian varietals of Pinot and Chard. The cool Carneros region provides ideal growing conditions for the Burgundian varietals of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, both of which make up today’s fantastic treat.
Enjoy now, and be sure to cellar some of this wine for the next several years. We can’t wait to see how it progresses over the years.
Cheers!
Tasting Profile
Look: | Medium, rich golden hues. On pouring, this bubbly wine shows off some of the softest and most dense mousse we’ve seen in a sparkling wine. Tiny bubbles make a continuous upward cascade, eventually clinging to the rim of the flute like a string of tiny pearls. |
---|---|
Smell: | Green apple, lemon zest, lemon curd, white flowers, lime leaf, brioche, almond and pear. |
Taste: | Ultra flavorful, with pear, lemon curd, Asian pear, Golden Delicious apple, pineapple, white flowers, subtle lime leaf and a hint of subtle white spice. |
Finish: | After the rush of creamy bubbles across the whole palate, fresh fruit flavors settle onto the tongue. They remain there long after your sip, gradually fading to reveal subtle mineral, almond and ultra subtle white spice notes. |
Pairing: | Enjoy this wine with any festive event, with appetizers, fruits and cheeses, or as an easy, delicious aperitif. |
