Mission Briefing
Moonshot
Today’s Petrali Vineyards 2005 Sonoma Valley Syrah is one of the finest Syrahs we’ve showcased in quite a while.
Why is it so good? For starters, this wine was made by Kian Tavakoli whose recent postings found him making wine at both Clos du Val and Opus One.
Combine Kian’s skills with amazing fruit, and viola, amazing Syrah!
Deep and lush, with layered aromas of stewed black fruits, cherry, kola nut, cured meat, rustic leather, mixed soft spice, baked bread, chocolate covered cherry and black pepper.
Rich and robust on the palate, with rustic, old world flavors of stewed black fruit, blackberry compote, black cherry reduction, baking spice, black pepper, leather, cured meat, baker’s chocolate, black pepper and darkly toasted oak.
This brilliant wine is superb now, and you’ll be enjoying bottles from your stash for the next handful of years!
