Today’s Pick of the Week is the inky, delectable and downright fantastic Eight Arms Cellars 2012 “The Colossus” Shasté Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

This wine, which hails from the magnificent 2012 vintage, is one of the finest Sonoma County Cabernets that we’ve featured in recent memory… dark, elegant and packed with classic Cabernet flavors.

Incredibly aromatic on the nose, with a big, rich, layered nose of blackberry compote, black cherry jam, blueberry, spice, leather, sweet tobacco leaf, milk chocolate covered cherry and earthy spices.

Bright, bold fruits are the first to present on the palate, with blackberry, blueberry, Alpine strawberry, and red currant. These are followed by spice, leather, tobacco, kola nut and a twist of cracked pepper.
