Mission Codename Puma's Pride
Today’s wine was made by 3rd generation grape growing legend, Ray Franscioni. Ray is the brother of, Gary Franscioni, another legend in the Salinas Valley.
The Franscioni family has farmed the valley for more than 100 years. They understand the unique soil composition and they know how to grow amazing wine grapes… especially Pinot Noir!
Today’s Puma Road 2013 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir hails from Ray Franscioni’s current wine project. This wine is a perfectly balanced and juicy treat from one of our favorite Pinot producing regions, the Santa Lucia Highlands. Pinot from this area is a very special treat and we’re thrilled to share this fantastic wine with you today.
Delightfully aromatic, with harmonious aromas of raspberry, bramble, pink champagne buttercream icing, red currant, summer forest, dried mushroom, subtle oak, vanilla and a subtle hint of savory eucalyptus.
Bing cherry juice bursts onto the palate, followed by raspberry jam, red currant, cranberry, dusty bramble, river rock, young strawberry, subtle sweet spice and a hint of eucalyptus.
Very highly recommended.
