Mission Codename The Covert Giant
Today’s House of Cards 2012 Red Wine was our Wine Spies 2015 Intrigue Awards winner for Best Buy Red Blend.
NBA Basketball great Yao Ming has made quite a stir in the wine world. His incredible Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has earned the respect of wine lovers around the globe. That wine sells for $115. Until now, that was his budget option. You see, his Reserve Cabernet sells for an astronomical $625 per bottle.
However, you don’t have to pay $650 or even $115 for a stellar Yao Ming wine. We have Yao’s 2012 Napa Valley Red Wine from his covert sister label, House of Cards.
This House of Cards 2012 Red Wine is a really impressive wine - especially when you consider the low price. This red blend is very fragrant, opulent and rich on the nose, with layers of red fruit, black fruit, earth and spice, leading with Black cherry, blackberry, red currant, cranberry, strawberry and cigar box. As the wine opens up, it unveils sweet tobacco, dried meat, spice, subtle baker’s chocolate and a very subtle hint of savory dried herbs.
Deeply flavorful, juicy and very delicious, with juicy red and black fruit that bursts forth on the palate. Black currant, raspberry, Bing cherry, strawberry and blackberry take the lead. These are followed by cranberry, cocoa powder, tobacco leaf, subtle sweet spice and a slate minerality.
At just $22.99, we expect today’s wine to sell out before the midnight deadline, so please be sure to acquire yours soon. Today’s very highly recommended wine is an absolute slam dunk!
