Anderson's Conn Valley
2011 "Prologue" North Coast Merlot
California: North Coast
We’re so thrilled to be showing today’s ULTRA QPR delight, Anderson’s Conn Valley Vineyards 2011 “Prologue” North Coast Merlot.
This is the best price to value Merlot that we’ve ever featured. This wine is a bargain at its full retail price. At 41% off, it’s a total steal!
You’re welcome. ;-)
This wine is lively and bright on the nose, with aromas of fresh cherries, dark chocolate, spice box, savory herb, dried red flowers, red currant and a hint of pepper.
On the palate, juicy and delicious on the palate, with flavors of Bing cherry, red currant, pomegranate, dried fall leaves, toasty oak, dark chocolate, vanilla and pepper.
Today’s wine was made by winemaker Robert Hunt, who has become a real winemaker of interest for us. Today’s wine is just so… so drinkable, and so delicious. When Robert’s not making intriguing and beguiling wines at Anderson’s Conn Valley, he’s making wine at Napa’s Clos Pegase Winery. Past postings? Well ‘little’ wineries like Pine Ridge Vineyards, Colgin Cellars, Ovid Vineyards and others of particular note.
In case you couldn’t tell, this wine is a rockstar. Grab yours now. Grab a lot!
Fine ruby red at the slightly opaque core of the wine, with a wide band of pure ruby gem that encircles the edge of the glass.
Fresh cherries, dark chocolate, spice box, savory herb, dried red flowers, red currant and a hint of pepper.
Bing cherry, red currant, pomegranate, dried fall leaves, toasty oak, dark chocolate, vanilla and pepper.
Grippy tannins dig in at the center of the palate. After fruit flavors fade, savory flavors accompany a gradually spreading dryness.
Merlot is the king of pairing, so go wild and enjoy this wine with a variety of your favorite foods, including difficult pairings like spicy sausage pasta.
