Mission Codename Oh, Gê!

Enjoy included ground shipping on just 4 bottles of today’s extremely rare and very highly recommended wine.

Today’s Emiliana Organic Vineyards 2011 Gê Red WIne is a rare, 95 point (James Suckling) gem that hails from the largest organic vineyard on the planet, from the most precious vineyard blocks.

This wine is sparsely available in the marketplace and, as a special treat to our Operatives, we have the best price.

Intensely fragrant, with lush, dark and bold aromas of blackberry, dried violets, dark chocolate, plum, cassis, briar patch, subtle tobacco, mixed spice, pencil shavings and exotic peppercorn.

Dark and rich, with bold flavors of cassis, plum, blackberry, black cherry, baker’s chocolate, dried violet, coffee bean, bramble, leather, sweet tobacco leaf, graphite, spice, toasted oak and peppercorn.

This wine is still young and it will only continue to soften and become even more appealing. Tannins are ripe and full, yet smooth and plush.

Flavors go on and on for a very long time. As the fruits finally fade, graphite, chocolate and spice ramp up - and hang around for a long time.

How long? Impossible to say, as we kept reaching for more big sips.

Enjoy!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:

95 points James Suckling - “Fabulous aromas of bright and flamboyant dark fruits such as blueberry, blackberry, flowers and wet earth. Full-bodied and juicy yet linear. Wonderful depth of fruit and balance. There’s an energy and sincerity to this red. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. Drink now.”

~

92 points - Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast - “Punchy up front, with aromas of wild berry and raspberry, this blend of Carmenère, Syrah and Cab Sauvignon runs deep and ripe in the mouth, with loamy tannins and overall smoothness. Blueberry, blackberry and toasty flavors become more chocolaty on the finish. Overall this unfolds bit by bit to show complexity and intrinsic qualities. A blend of 45% Carmenere, 40% Syrah, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink through 2022.”

~

91 points - Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate - “The top of the range is the 2011 Ge, a blend that changes every year. The 2011 contains 45% Carmenere, 40% Syrah and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon from Colchagua, from selected Los Robles estate plots and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.

This was the very first certified biodynamic wine from South America in 2003. The 2011 is a ripe and concentrated wine, with notes of blackberries, cassis, dark plums, graphite and peat, a dense, full-bodied palate, with well-integrated oak, pungent flavors and a thick texture. It’s like a bigger version of the Coyam.”
