Mission Codename No Kidding
We’re starting off the week with a remarkable find from our new friends at Sequum Wines.
Sequum wines express the life’s work of Paul Skinner, who holds a PhD in both viticulture and soil science. Paul’s excruciating attention to detail, both in his Napa Valley Kidd Vineyard and in the cellar are apparent on first whiff of his wonderful wines.
Today’s Sequum wines 2012 “MIXT” Napa Valley Red Wine is incredibly fragrant, with bushels of berries, spice and earthy goodness that waft from the glass. These aromas are an aromatic portend to what your mouth is about to experience; blueberry jam, blackberry preserve, raspberry, wild strawberry, sweet spice, cherry tobacco, chocolate covered cherry, sweet oak and a hint of cracked pepper.
The nose, as lush and wonderful as it is, doesn’t tell the full story here. On the palate, this wine explodes with a delicious array of flavors. Bold blackberry, fresh cherry, raspberry and cassis blend beautifully with mixed sweet spice, sweet tobacco leaf, cigar box, baker’s chocolate, bramble, white cherry, red currant and toasty oak.
We offer you today’s wine with our highest recommendation.
Enjoy!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
91 points - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast - “A bright, floral violet bouquet invites in this blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petite Sirah that follows through with earthy cherry and strawberry highlights. Softly textured, the wine is deeply structured and in balance, a delicious offering of several varieties married well.”
