We’ve been featuring the wines of Mayo Family Winery for nearly a decade. In that time we’ve tasted a lot of their wines.

We’re fond of their trademark Zinfandels and we’re particularly fond of their Ricci Vineyard Zin… which is why we’re doing cartwheels over today’s fantastic 2012 Ricci Vineyard Russian River Zin

Extra lush and super fragrant on the nose, with aromas of Bing cherry, spiced blackberry candy, Santa Rosa plum, spice box, blackberry tobacco, baker’s chocolate, bramble bush, soft cedar, toasty oak, vanilla bean and black pepper.

On the palate, incredibly delicious with juicy fruit flavors that are tempered by earthiness, spice and wood. Flavors of blackberry preserve, red currant, plum, tobacco, bramble bush, cocoa, hard cedar, spice box and black pepper.
