Mission Codename Altraed State
You’ve been asking for a great Rosé for Spring and Summertime sipping and we’ve found a fantastic one for you!
Today’s 2012 Fiore Rosa Napa Valley Rosé is a deeeeelicious saignée (pronounced sonyay) style wine that had our whole tasting panel doing cartwheels.
At 50% off, this limited availability wine is expected to sell out.
This wine is beautiful on the nose, with fresh aromas of strawberry, white cherry, lemon, orange blossom and white tea.
On the palate, this Rosé is bold and complex, loaded with fruit and earthy goodness. Strawberry, rose petal, orange rind, white tea, pineapple, dried fall leaves, and slate.
The winery’s delicious Cabernet Sauvignon commands a rich $80 per bottle. If you love today’s Altra Rosé, let us know and we’ll see if we can’t score you a deal on their spectacular Cab.
A note on saignée winemaking: Like red wine, rosé gets its color from the skins of red grapes. The depth of color varies, depending on the grape varieties used and the length of time that the skins are in contact with the juice. This can be less than an hour to as long as several days.
