Mission Codename Mister Canihan Can
Last year we featured the 2012 Canihan Syrah and it went on to great acclaim among our Operatives. When Bill Canihan offered us the chance to raid his archive, we went straight for his Canihan 2011 Exuberance Sonoma County Syrah.
We love this wine even more than the fabulous 2012. Our allocation is limited, so please be sure to reserve yours soon.
Deeply fragrant on the nose, with aromas that waft from the glass. Black cherry, smoky plum, blackberry preserve, grilled blueberry, bramble, chocolate covered cherry, leather, tobacco and spice.
Bursting with flavors of black cherry, plum, molasses, twigs, soft spice, blackberry compote, blueberry, dark chocolate, cracked pepper, supple leather and toasty oak.
We haven’t featured a Syrah this good in some time and we hope that you are able to get your hands on some. Please reserve yours soon.
Cheers!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
92 points - Gold Medal - Exceptional - Cellar Selection - Beverage Testing Institute - “Dark opaque violet color. Bright, floral, fruity attractive aromas of baked cherries and boysenberries, waxy honeycomb, coconut cream and pepper dust with a glycerous, lively, dryish medium-full body and a warming, complex, roasted nuts, leather, and earth finish, with earthy dusty tannins and moderate oak. A nice chewy Syrah for the table; give this a bit of time.”
San Francisco International Wine Competition - *Double Gold
