Happy Super Spy Sunday, Operative! Each Sunday we strive to bring you wines with some of the week’s best discounts. Today’s treat is the darkly juicy Doce Robles 2011 Paso Robles Estate Reserve Syrah. This Super QPR (Quality to Price Ratio) wine is one to stock up on, but be warned: quantity is limited.

This wine has beautiful crimson color and even consistency from core to edge. This wine has an interesting nose of vanilla, molasses, subtle cooling spearmint, wet gravel, blackberry, and plum. The flavor profile of this wine is replete with white pepper, black currant, cranberry, pomegranate and tart cherry. This medium-bodied Syrah slides straight down the center of the palate for an all-business wine-drinking experience. Let’s get serious with a pulled-pork sandwich on a Racer 5 bun, piled-high, and drenched with authentic Texas BBQ sauce. Our mouths are watering, is yours?

The small-production Doce Robles Winery was the very first winery to have appeared on the now winery-heavy Highway 46. Doce Robles’ neighbors include the likes of Peachy Canyon, Sextant and Castoro Cellars… to name just a few. Doce Robles planted their vineyards in 1996 to Barbera, Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Primitivo, Petite Sirah and Malbec were also planted in 2010 and 2012.
