Mission Codename Riddle Solved
We’ve featured the wines of Random Ridge for nearly 10 years now. Winemaker Bill Hawley has always made fantastic wines - but he’s made some big changes at his winery, starting with today’s outrageously great Random Ridge 2013 Cabernets Reserve.
So, what’s changed?
Bill has decreased production - while turning his focus on using only his best estate vineyard rows. Bill only made 4 barrels of today’s wine.
He’s also seriously upgraded the quality of the oak barrels that he aged today’s wine in. Wine barrels are expensive, and the barrels that he’s used for today’s wine are about twice the price.
Today’s Random Ridge 2013 Cabernets Reserve is a truly delicious, balanced, aromatic beauty of a blend. A blend which continues Bill’s tradition of combining 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Cabernet Franc, which merges the deep richness of Cab Sauv, with the bright, food-friendliness of Cab Franc.
This wine is lush and full on the nose, with an explosion of Bing cherry, dark chocolate, wild strawberry, smoky blueberry, braised plum, sweet tobacco, boysenberry and sweet oak.
Rich and incredibly delicious, with concentrated flavors of blackberry jam, chocolate covered cherry, black cherry cordial, wild strawberry, toasty oak, sweet spice and subtle hints of tar and twigs.
If you’ve enjoyed our Random Ridge selections in the past, this wine will take you to new heights.
We hope that you have the opportunity to acquire this great wine - before we sell out…
